We are so close to being able to say that “spring has sprung”! The temps are (slowly) rising, the days are getting longer, and I see those tiny buds popping through the ground. Although spring officially began weeks ago, there is something about Easter that gives me the final push I need to believe that warmer, greener days are really ahead. And there is so much fun to be had in celebration of Easter! From classic egg hunts to yummy bunny brunches, there are endless
Easter Bunny Train, Danbury, CT
Most of us have heard of holiday-themed train rides to the North Pole around Christmas time. But did you know that there is an Easter Bunny Train? In addition to a train ride and meet-and-greet with the

Young Women’s League of New Canaan Easter Egg Hunt, New Canaan, CT
Saturday, April 6th marks the YWL of New Canaan’s 46th annual Easter Egg Hunt! This favorite community event takes place at Waveny House and kicks off at 9 am with the arrival of none other than the Easter Bunny. Children will scoop up over 10,000 eggs on the lawn of the House while searching for the coveted golden eggs. The hunt itself begins at 10:15 am, but there is tons of fun to be had before and after that! There are many family-friendly activities such as bounce houses, glitter tattoos, photos with the Easter Bunny (for those little ones that are interested!) and so much more! Don’t miss the bake sale! There are lots of delicious and creative spring treats for purchase– yum!
In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held on Sunday, April 7th at New Canaan High School.

Miniature Egg Hunt, Greenwich, CT
This is definitely not the grandest or most elaborate of egg hunts, but it sure is adorable. If you’re anything like me and love all things “mini” or “tiny”, you won’t want to miss this event! Whimsies Dollhouse Shop is holding its 9th annual Mini Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20th and you’re invited to hop on by between

Forest Easter Egg Adventure, Stamford, CT
This event at Stamford Museum & Nature Center is so popular that tons of disappointed egg-hunters were turned away at the gate last year. If you’re interested in attending this year, do not wait to buy tickets (various time slots have already sold out). If you are lucky enough to get tickets…you’ll start the event with an egg hunt on the Wheels in the Woods trail, where kids will gather eggs in the woods. From there, you’ll head to the Overbrook Nature Center where you’ll get to meet some live animals and create a fun craft. New this year: instead of receiving a goody bag in exchange for their found eggs, kids will get a prize of their choosing– such as activity kits, stuffed animals, or books!
Schedule: Saturday, April 13th, Sunday, April 14th, & Saturday, April 20th. 4 sessions per day between 11am and 3:30pm.
Tickets: Members: $20/child (adults free), Non-Members: $25/child (1 free adult per paying child, $5 per additional adult) and can be purchased here.
This program will run rain or shine. It will be held indoors at the Great Hall in the event of rain.

EGGstravaganza Egg Hunt, Westport, CT
Another wildly successful event last year was Wakeman Town Farm’s EGGstravaganza Egg Hunt. With over 1,000 people in attendance at their first ever egg hunt, they’ve decided to put a cap on the number of attendees allowed this year. Which means you must pre-register if you’d like to hunt at the Farm! The second annual EGGstravaganza will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 10am to 12pm. The event will begin with an egg hunt for children of all ages (FYI: there is one hunting ground for ages 0-4 and another for ages 5+). The fun doesn’t stop there! Before and after the hunt, children are invited to participate in egg-themed games and crafts. They will also get a chance to get up close and personal with the Farm’s adorable bunnies and chicks. And of course, the Big Bunny will make a special visit! This fun, family event truly celebrates some EGGcellent traditions that can’t be missed!
Tickets: $20 per family and can be purchased here.
This event is rain or shine.

The Great Egg Hunt & Spring Celebration, New Canaan, CT
Don’t wait to buy tickets for this event either– it has been known to sell out in the past! This Easter celebration at New Canaan Nature Center is perfect for children ages 2 to 10. Similarly to Stamford Museum & Nature Center’s festivities, these egg hunts are deliberately designed for smaller groups to ensure a fun, safe event for all. In addition to the hunt, kiddos can partake in an egg and spoon obstacle course and then meet the Nature Center’s baby chicks and bunny rabbits! At Saturday’s event only: you are invited to meet adorable (and adoptable!) rabbits from Hopalong Hollow Rabbit Rescue.
Schedule: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday April 18th, 19th, & 20th. 4 sessions per day between 11am and 2:30pm
Tickets: Members: $10/child, Non-Members: $15/child and can be purchased here.
This event is rain or shine.

About Lauren Haley

Lauren Haley was born and raised in Darien, CT and received a BS in Retail Merchandising and Business Administration from Ohio University. Upon graduating, Lauren returned to the east coast and spent 8 years in Buying and Planning roles in Manhattan at Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue. As a busy mom looking for activities for her girls, Lauren always found herself spending hours on various websites comparing schedules, costs, and class descriptions. And when it came time to start the daunting task of finding a preschool, it was impossible for her to locate a quick overview of each school’s approach to learning or identify open house and registration dates. Lauren quickly realized that navigating the logistics of activity registration and preschool enrollment didn’t need to be so difficult, so Busy Little Bee was born! Lauren lives in Darien, CT with her husband, Chris, and two daughters, Parker and Madison.
